Why a Complete RFQ Produces a Better Quotation
A request that says only “Please send your best price” leaves important sourcing questions unanswered. A foot massager quotation depends on the product structure, destination market, electrical configuration, order quantity, branding, packaging, compliance requirements and delivery schedule.
For importers, distributors, retailers and private-label brands, a complete request for quotation (RFQ) helps the manufacturer recommend a suitable model and reduces repeated emails before sample and order discussions can begin. Use the following 12-point checklist when contacting a foot massager supplier.
1. Introduce Your Company and Sales Channel
Briefly explain whether you are an importer, distributor, retail chain, e-commerce seller, promotional buyer or wellness brand. Include your company name, website and primary sales channel when available.
This context helps the supplier understand whether the project needs marketplace packaging, retail display materials, distributor cartons or private-label documentation. It also makes the inquiry easier to qualify than a message without company information.
2. Specify the Product Type or Massage Coverage
State whether you need a compact foot-only product, a foot-and-calf massager, or a broader full-leg structure. If you already have a model in mind, include the model number.
YZS851: compact foot massage with rollers, airbag kneading and heat.
YZS818: foot-and-calf massage with air compression, rollers, vibration and heat.
YZS898: broader foot, calf and leg coverage.
If the model is not yet selected, describe the required massage areas, target retail position and preferred product size. You can also review the foot massager model comparison guide.
3. Confirm the Destination Country
The destination country affects voltage, frequency, plug type, labeling, manual language and compliance planning. Do not describe the destination only as “Europe” or “overseas” when the project is intended for a specific country.
If the same product will be sold in several markets, list each country separately. A configuration suitable for one market should not automatically be assumed to meet another market’s electrical or documentation requirements.
4. Provide the Estimated Order Quantity
Include the expected quantity for the first order and, when possible, the estimated annual volume. MOQ and unit pricing may change according to the product configuration, logo method, color, packaging and required documentation.
If you are planning a trial order, state that clearly. The supplier can then explain which customization items are feasible at the trial quantity and which may require a larger production run.
5. State Voltage, Frequency and Plug Type
Provide the required voltage, frequency and plug. Examples may include 120V/60Hz for the United States or 220–240V/50Hz for many other markets, but the correct configuration must be confirmed for the specific destination and product.
Include any power-cord length, adapter, rating-label or energy-related requirements in the same section of the RFQ.
6. List the Required Massage Functions
Do not rely only on general words such as “high quality” or “multifunction.” List the functions that matter to the project, such as:
Roller kneading or scraping
Air-compression coverage
Heating area and heat settings
Vibration massage
Intensity levels and automatic programs
Adjustable angle or different use positions
Control-panel or remote-control preference
If a reference product is available, send photos or a public link and explain which features should be similar. Avoid requesting an exact copy of protected branding or design.
7. Describe Logo, Color and Control-Panel Requirements
For an OEM or private-label project, specify the preferred logo location and application method if known. Provide the logo as a vector file when possible. Also indicate whether the standard product color is acceptable or a custom color is required.
Control-panel artwork, button language, rating labels and warning labels should be included in the customization brief. These items affect artwork approval and may affect MOQ or lead time.
8. Explain the Packaging and Manual Brief
State whether you need standard export packaging or a custom retail box. For private-label projects, include:
Retail-box design or brand guidelines
Master-carton requirements
Barcode, SKU and shipping marks
Instruction-manual language
Warranty card, inserts or promotional materials
Marketplace or retailer packaging specifications
Packaging is part of the product project, not a final afterthought. Confirm artwork responsibilities, color requirements and approval steps before mass production.
9. Identify Required Compliance Documents
Tell the supplier which certifications, test reports, declarations, labels or material information are required by your market and sales channel. Requirements must be reviewed for the final product model and electrical configuration.
A general claim that a similar product was tested is not a substitute for confirming that the documents cover the exact model you intend to import. If your retailer or marketplace has its own checklist, attach it to the RFQ.
10. Define the Sample and Evaluation Plan
Explain whether you need a standard sample, a branded sample or a pre-production sample. Provide the delivery address and requested evaluation date.
Your sample review can cover massage strength, heating, noise, comfort, control operation, workmanship, product dimensions, voltage, plug, labels and packaging. For a detailed process, see the 12-point foot massager sample QC checklist.
11. Give the Target Delivery Schedule
Include the target sample date, order date and required delivery window. If the project is linked to a promotion, retailer launch or seasonal campaign, mention the fixed deadline at the beginning.
Production timing depends on quantity, configuration, material preparation, artwork approval and sample confirmation. A realistic schedule should include time for sample evaluation, revisions, production, inspection and transport.
12. Clarify Quality, Warranty and Spare-Part Expectations
Share any incoming inspection checklist, performance acceptance criteria or retailer quality standard. Ask how defects, warranty support and agreed spare parts will be handled for the order.
These requirements should be discussed before purchase-order confirmation so both parties use the same acceptance criteria for the sample and mass production.

Common RFQ Mistakes That Delay a Quote
Requesting a price without a model, quantity or destination country
Leaving voltage and plug requirements until after sample ordering
Asking for custom packaging without providing a packaging brief
Assuming one compliance document applies to every model and market
Giving a delivery deadline without allowing time for artwork and sample approval
Sending personal contact details without any company or sales-channel information
A short inquiry can still be useful when it includes the essential commercial and technical facts. The goal is not to make the message long; it is to make the project clear.
